Cooling packs – INUTEQ-PAC® technology
Our INUTEQ-PAC® phase change material (PCM) cooling technology of renewable biological origin is made from plant-based materials. Our bio-based PCM is non-toxic, 100% biodegradable, flame-retardant, durable, reusable, 20% lighter than water, and does not cause condensation.
We offer cooling packs for five different temperatures:
* 6.5°C / 44°F
* 15°C / 59°F
* 21°C / 70°F
* 24°C / 75°F
* 29°C / 84°F
The temperature of the cooling pack depends on the ambient temperature and the duration of exposure.
How to activate INUTEQ-PAC® cooling packs:
The time required for full activation of the PCM depends on the INUTEQ-PAC® temperature and the cooling method:
Ice water: approximately 20 minutes
Freezer: approximately 40 minutes
Refrigerator: approximately 60 minutes
Regardless of the cooling method, you can shorten the activation time by laying the packs flat in a single layer instead of stacking them. If you put on the pack immediately after removing it from the freezer, it may feel uncomfortably cold. Therefore, we recommend waiting at least 5 minutes for the pack to warm up to the set temperature of 6.5°C (44°F), 15°C (59°F), 21°C (70°F), 24°C (75°F) or 29°C (84°F), depending on the PCM model you ordered. Once the PCM reaches this temperature, it will remain stable for several hours.
Packs that have been activated in a refrigerator or cold water can be used immediately. Activated packs can be stored in a refrigerator or cooler bag to keep them cold and ready for use for up to 12 hours. If you plan to store PCM packs in a refrigerator or cooler bag, we recommend activating them in a freezer.
During hot summer days, TUAQ vests will keep you comfortably cool – you just have to try them.
